In recent years numerous initiatives at local, national and European level are being developed in the field of e-Health and e-Inclusion to promote the technical development, economic efficiency and the quality of the health and social services in rural territories. Nevertheless, these experiences and actions are often confronted with legal, technical or financial obstacles.

INTRAS Foundation participated in the congress "Mosaico Social - active citizenship and local development", funded by PRODER and held in District of Porto, Portugal, between 27 and 29 of June 2013. The event lasted 3 days with a multitude of interactions between local, regional, national and European projects and organizations. On the first day, the innovative methodology to generate new ideas "Social Mindshake applied to the third sector” stood out. The last two days of the event were dedicated to debates, conferences and free communications.

From 7 to 10 October 2013 will be held in Brussels the Open Days 2013, 11th Week of Regions and Cities.

In the workshop "Debate on the future demographic landscape - How to neutralise the negative effects of demographic crises in Europe?" participates Mr. Olivier Brunet representing the Government of Aragon. In his presentation "Demographic challenges: regional solutions? In Aragon", will present the project eRESATER. 

E-resater partners meet in Madrid on octobre 16th to evaluate the projet first achievements.

Next October 16th, the 4th transnational meeting of the eResater project partners will take place in Madrid.

This meeting will analyze the progress of the project and its evolution over the application form.

The agenda contains the following main topics: presentation of the situation of the local activities of each partner, animation online forums, preparation of the next workshop (it will take place in Toulouse at the beginning of 2014), Vitlab progress, results achieved, etc.

On Wednesday October 16, took place in Madrid the second Steering Committee of the eResater project.

The partners analyzed the evolution of the project tasks, and fixed the topics and dates for the next workshops knowledge network:

The project final conference will take place in Toulouse in November 2013 and there will be presented the results achieved.

European Telemedicine Conference 2013.

The first annual European Telemedicine Conference (ETC) "A map of telemedicine that works." will take place the 29th and the 30th October 2013 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The 19th and the 20th November 2013 will take place in Toledo the XI Meeting of the Telemedicine Forum, organized by SEIS (Spanish Society of Electronic Health).

The 20th November there will be a round table discussion called "Outstanding Projects".

In this round table, Mr. Olivier Rey, e-RESATER project coordinator from MidiPyrénées-France, will introduce the "e-RESATER - Telemedicine at rural areas" project.

The Conference will approach the new EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon 2020, will be held in Madrid (Centro de Congresos Príncipe Felipe Hotel Auditorium), 11-12 November.

Thought leaders in Integrated Care from around the world will be gathering in Singapore from 7 to 9 November 2013 for the World Congress on Integrated Care.

Olivier Rey, president of the Pays Couserans French Area and e-RESATER Project coordinator, introduced the e-RESATER project at the XI Spanish Telemedicine Forum, which took place the 19th and the 20th November at Toledo, Spain. The presentation "SUDOE e-RESATER Project: Telemedicine at rural areas" explained the results achieved in the RESATER project and the challenges to be faced within the e-RESATER initiative.

A telemonitoring training was held on Friday March 21 in the retirement home of Campo (Huesca, Spain), organized by the eRESATER partners FDS and SALUD. The healthcare workers from the retirement home were trained in the use of vital monitors that are going to take constants of the telemonitored patients (blood pressure meter, press Oxymètre, glucometre, ECG and ear thermometer). These constants are transmitted to a gateway that generates alarms in case that the limits established for each patient are exceeded.

Partners of Aragon (FDS and SALUD) and Couserans (Syndicat Mixte Pays couserans and EchoSanté) met in Barbastro (Spain) for sharing information from the telemonitoring pilots project who are executing both regions.

The EU-funded Antilope project published recently (12/03/2014) a request for proposals (RFP) for developing testing tools that further enhance testing for the profiles and standards needed to implement the use cases identified in the European eHealth Interoperability Framework (eEIF). The Antilope project has published a list of testing tools that are used to ensure interoperability with existing IT infrastructures, services and devices.

On 12 June, the eResater project partnership organized in Barbastro (Spain) the workshop entitled "Integrated Care for Chronic Patients".
In the event more than 140 professionals in the health and social sectors from different countries met to discuss of the good practices, experiences, assessment and telemonitoring solutions in order to strengthening the cooperation and stimulate an open innovation process in Which different stakeholders will take part in the co-creation of ideas, proposals and solutions.

Barbastro Healthcare Area e-RESATER Workshop

On Monday November 24, SALUD and FDS (eRESATER aprtners from Aragón, Spain) met at the Hospital de Barbastro.
The meeting topics for transnational partners meeting to be held in San Sebastian (Spain) on 1 and 2 December were prepared. Furthermore, the possibilities of expanding the pilot telemonitoring experience that both partners are implementing were studied. Experimentation initially ended in October 2014, and has decided to extend three months.

RESATER Project pilot experience “Retinographies in primare care” in Asturias has been integrated in regional Health policies and spread to the rest Areas of Health in the region, constituting an example for transferring best practices from a pilot project to general policies.

Le Conseil national de l’ordre des médecins (CNOM) a publié le 11 septembre un « Vade-mecum Télémédecine », qui compile et commente les aspects juridiques et déontologiques à respecter lors de la construction des projets de télémédecine et dans sa pratique.
Loin de contraindre l’usage des technologies de l’information et de la communication dans la pratique médicale, le document, construit comme un guide vise à accompagner les médecins dans un usage des technologies conformes aux bases de l’éthique médicale et de la déontologie professionnelle.

On 1 and 2 December took place the 5th steering committee of eResater project in San Sebastian (Spain).
The partnership has requested an extension of six months for the project, which now end in June 2015. At this meeting the partners programmed actions to be implemented in the next year that will ensure the achievement of the objectives.
Moreover, different issues relating to the final project seminar and workshop to be held in Toulouse (France) in May 2015 were discussed.

Le Groupe Pasteur Mutualité a développé une application mobile, GPM e-Santé, qui recense 800 applications de santé aujourd'hui disponibles en France, a-t-il annoncé le 20 novembre dans un communiqué.
Cette application gratuite vise à guider les professionnels de santé "dans le labyrinthe de l'e-santé" et à "faciliter leurs recherches en leur évitant une veille longue, fastidieuse et forcément partielle", explique le groupe.

The 20th and the 21st of January 2015 a meeting of the e-RESATER partners ECHOSANTÉ (Pays Couserans) and SALUD (Aragón) took place at Saint-Lizier (France).

The main objective of the meeting was the exchange of information about the Home Hospitalization service run by ECHOSANTÉ.

Representatives from the SALUD working at Barbastro Hospital attended the meeting. They belonged to the Primary Care and to the Emergency Care Board. Two members from the Innovation Unit also were present at the event.

The number 109 of the I+S (Informatics and Health) magazine has been published. This magazine is edited by the SEIS (Spanish Society of Health Informatics). This release is a monographic about innovation at it includes information about the last Meeting of the Spanish Telemedicine Forum which took place last November in Valladolid. One of the conferences included a presentation of different projects of chronic patients telemonitoring developed at Barbastro Healthcare Sector (Aragón).

09th april 2015, took place a coordination meeting of e-RESATER local partners in Asturias: Asturian Federation of Town Halls and Municipalities and Regional Ministry for Health.
The meeting, aimed at planning the unfolding of the health application system developed in the project in different health centers belonging to Health Area II, took place in Oviedo with the participation of technical officers from Regional Ministry for Health and F.CC.
Upcoming activities timetable was agreed during meeting.

The eHealth Competition is an initiative that rewards the best eHealth/ mHealth solutions produced by SMEs (European Small and Medium Enterprises). Its objective is to support business success of SMEs by giving them visibility together with marketing opportunities to attract customers, partners and external capital.

The EU SME eHealth Competition 2015 has the endorsement and the support of the European Commission.
The eHealth Competition 2015 will be held during the eHealth Week conference at the International Exhibition Center Kipsala in Riga (Latvia), the next 11th May.

The work done by GTT (Working Group on Telemedicine) in the last two years, with significant developments in the implementation of telemedicine / telemonitoring in Portugal, was presented at MedeTel Conference, held between 22 and 24 April, Luxembourg. The Working Group on Telemedicine was represented by Miguel Castelo Branco, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hospital Cova da Beira.

The functional scope of the Competition was on eHealth or Active and Healthy Ageing. Elegible ICT or mHealth solutions focused on the Healthcare or Active and Healthy Ageing markets.
Were given 2 types of awards:

1 - Champions: SMEs with annual turnover more than 500,000€ in 2013 (considering only the eHealth unit, in case the company has several divisions).
2 - Promises: SMEs with annual turnover less than 500,000€ in 2013.

The Jury will awarded 6 winners: 1st, 2nd and 3rd per category.

The E-RESATER final seminar took place in Toulouse on Tuesday 2nd of June. The results of the project were described and discussed at the seminar's three round tables, focusing on open innovation, coordination of social and medical care and prospects for the new European programming period (2014-2020). 

The Spanish Minister of Health, Social Services and Equality, Alfonso Alonso, presented in the end of April 2015 the first "app" for support in dependency to inform and empower caregivers and the elderly or dependent.

Pre-launch events of the Interreg Programme, specifically of the SUDOE sub-programme, were held last 19th of June in Toulouse and 1st July in Madrid. The aim of these workshops was to disseminate the latest information on the program, approved by the European Commission last June 18, to allow potential beneficiaries start preparing their project applications.
